Soundtrack
First off -- Happy 4th of July! It's grey and rainy here. Not the ideal weather for picnics and such. Oh well.
On to writing....
I have to create a soundtrack for each novel that I write. Call me strange if you wish, but I will do it just the same. There are always two soundtracks that I create: an instrumental one that I can write to, and then the lyrical one that I use as a kind of mood board. Music and lyrics tell a story together -- so writing and songs go hand in hand (at least that's the way I see it). Now here I am to share my soundtrack for my novel Beginning of the End.
Radioactive Imagine Dragons//Heroes (We Could Be) Alesso ft. Tove Lo// Blood Brothers Luke Bryan//Human Christina Perri//Young Blood Bea Miller//Superman (It's Not Easy) Five for Fighting//Angel with a Shotgun The Cab//Dreaming Alone Against the Current//Lost Michael Buble//Undone FFH//All of Me John Legend//Hesitate Steve Moakler//Superheroes The Script//I Won't Let Go Rascal Flatts
Do you like to write soundtracks for your novel? Why/why not? Do you prefer writing to instrumentals or lyrical songs (I prefer instrumental, myself)?

Oooh thank you for including Young Blood, I've never heard it before but I really like it now! Undone has been a long time favorite of mine. :)

You are very welcome! I can't even remember how I discovered it, but it quickly got added to my playlist! Your blog was actually where I discovered Undone lol. It was on a Star Wars video that you shared, so thanks for introducing me to that one :D

I used to always write to instrumental! Always movie soundtracks like the ones by Hans Zimmer and Danny Elfman. xD Buuut then I found them too distracting so I write in silence. but AJFDLKSA IMAGINE DRAGONS ARE INCREDIBLE!! I love the look of this mix. ;-)
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by @ Paper Fury!
Hans Zimmer always distracts me, too. I decided that listening to him is a big no-no when writing because the music is just so beautiful, I can't focus. AND YES Imagine Dragons is wonderful. I wonder how I went so long before I discovered them!
DeleteWelcome, and thanks for stopping by my little corner!
