Another Year: 2016

Thursday, January 7, 2016

It's hard to believe that another year is over. I'm going to be twenty this year. Twenty. I still can't quite comprehend that. As I said in my previous post, 2015 was a crazy year -- but you know what? I think I had a pretty good handle on it. My word for last year was Fierce. Believe it or not, I was fierce last year. There were times that I wasn't, but I did so many things that I never thought I would do.

I spent a lot of time thinking about what my one word for 2016 would be. What do I want 2016 to hold for me? How do I want to change? I finally came to the conclusion that I want to live, not just survive. I want to remember what a beautiful thing it is to be alive and breath fresh air into my lungs. I don't ever want to be afraid to live. And more than anything, I want to live for the One who died for me. So my one word for 2016 is Live.

2015 Bucket List
Blog more
Finish editing my novel & then start the sequel
Read lots of books
Stay organized
Make a new recipe once a week
Take 1 picture every day
Stop biting my nails
Go on another fun girls trip
Workout every day
Step out of y comfort zone more

No, I wasn't able to cross everything off. But you know what? The 3 things I did cross off are a big deal to me. Plus, I did a ton of other fun things. I went to my first live concert -- it was freezing cold and pouring rain, but totally worth it to hear Josh Turner sing live (seriously). I'm determined to cross more things off in 2016.

    1. Thanks! The ukulele is pretty fun to play, but my hands aren't quite big enough to play some of the chords :/

  2. These are some great goals! If you need any new recipes I can suggest some! This blogger has tons of good ones: http://wonderlandrecipes.com/ My favorite are the Amity Salad and Killer Bunny Bites (though you can substitute the rabbit for chicken or pork). ^ ^
